Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – March 7, 2016

Hi Everyone,

I am tired.

The big Love Me Do Gala was last night.

I didn’t get home until midnight.

I just may go back to bed after I write this.

The gala?

Fantastic!

Bow-tie working check-inThe first thing I had to oversee was the check-in table.

We made sure everyone got a pretty yellow wristband.

Then it was on to greeting some of the guests.

Bow-tie discusses Bow-tiesOne very special fellow was one of the first to arrive.

He wore a bow tie just for me!

He’s the dad of my good feline buddy.

Bow-ties galoreNot to be outdone…

…another dude wore a bow tie just for te picture with me.

I’m flattered by both of them.

Bow-tie meets gala guestsOn to meet more guests.

There were some really cool pink glasses I tried to knock off.

But Ringo himself stopped me. (he he he he)

Bow-Tie with the chance drawing ticketsThere were great raffle items.

The big prize of the night was a trip to London.

I didn’t win.

Bow-Tie meeting Sgt. PepperThere were tiny kittens visiting the crowd.

Sgt. Pepper himself brought one over to visit me.

It was a wonderful night and lots of money was raised to help all the cats.

Bow-Tie sits on the tableThere were wonderful presentations.

There was only one guest who got to sit on the table for the video…

…oh yes I did!

Bow-Tie thinks about salmonAnd for dinner?

I had the salmon and it was purrfect!

Thanks for the wonderful party, Cat Depot!

See you all next week.

Mighty Lou Love Me Tender

Elvis did “Love Me Tender,” but Cat Depot did it better!

Mighty Lou gets a new cape for Cat Depot's gala

Saturday night was the “Love Me Tender” Gala and quite a party it was (view photos of the gala). I had a special cape made for the event.

Mighty Lou on his pedestal

It’s a good thing I did because as soon as I got there they put me in the position I rightfully belong. On a pedestal!

Mighty Lou's badge

I acted as official greeter (although they gave me a name tag that said otherwise).

Mighty Lou and Jeff Donahue

I was all set to meet and greet the public. My first visitor was an old friend. Jeff and I go way back to my Cat Depot days so I let him help me with my glasses.

Mighty Lou and Jeff have matching glasses

We had a private moment before the crowd began. Don’t you think we look good in matching glasses?

Mighty Lou with Bev Meadows and Garo Partoyan

Everyone who was anyone wanted a moment with Ol’ Mighty Lou, Founders included.

Mighty Lou meets Elaine Spang

I hadn’t met Miss Elaine before but she passed the Mighty Lou sniff test. She can stay.

Mighty Lou and Mary Budd

Mary Budd had that “I found you so you owe it all to me” look on her face. She’s right though, I do owe her for bringing me to Cat Depot in the first place.

Mighty Lou and Katie Norvell

Old friend and big fan, Miss Katie, stopped by for a Mighty Lou smooch.

Mighty Lou and Shelley Thayer

Miss Shelley was still hard at it all night but she never misses an opportunity to touch the great cape.

Mighty Lou and Lynn Rasys

Miss Lynn and I posed for quite the formal portrait. Lookin’ good.

Mighty Lou and Petunia - Cat Depot's Mascot

Not all of my admirers were human. Petunia couldn’t believe her eyes. Even she dared to touch the mighty cape.

Mighty Lou and his admirers

Everywhere I turned they were looking for the Mighty Lou stamp of approval. You’re good to go, girls.

Mighty Lou sits down to dinner

Finally I got a break for dinner. Dining on mahi mahi, Hyatt Regency style. Not a bad paycheck.

Mighty Lou receives a Valentine

Everyone got a Valentine at the table including me.

Mighty Lou checks out a $4,000 bracelet

They tried to get me to bid on a $4000 bracelet. Uh, thanks but no thanks. Not right now.

Mighty Lou works at the checkout table

After dinner I was back to work. In addition to opening the night as greeter, I closed the night at the auction check-out table.

Mighty Lou and Lena Hernandez

Miss Lena did a fantastic job but everyone needs a little Mighty Lou assurance.

Dude, I’ll tell ya I had a great night but it was long. I was there at 5 PM and I didn’t leave until after 11 PM. Now only a guy can relate to this, but I had finally had it with that tuxedo. I couldn’t wait to get out of it.

I waited until everyone had left the building and then I did it. The tux and the cape were off………..
Mighty Lou has left the building

….and Mighty Lou has left the building.

Thanks, Cat Depot, for a great time.

Whitey Wobbles Says “Cats Need Vacations Too”

Hi Mighty Lou!

I bet you thought I disappeared. Well, my humans decided to take a short vacation and leave me, Harley and Daisy Doodles home alone. Well, not totally alone. Our Aunt Beth came over two times a day to feed us and play with us.

I did not like being alone so much. Why do humans think cats don’t need vacations? I would love to go on a cruise. I can only imagine the great fish I could catch from the boat.

I have been busy telling all my friends about Caturday Night Fever. You look so awesome in your fancy capes for that night. Maybe I can go next year. It is so thoughtful of Cat Depot to have this major event on my birthday!  Yep…March 15 is my big day.  I will be the big “5.”

I’m sure you have heard the good news about the Napier cats. They will finally get to find forever homes like us.I’m sending some of my food to them. Mom says I need to lose a few pounds.

Whitey Wobbles Steals Shoes to Keep His Humans at Home

I found a way to keep your humans at home….take their shoes!

I will be waiting for your report on the “Caturday Night Fever” party!

Mighty Lou Stayin’ Alive!!

Dear Whitey,

Disco Mighty Lou

It’s me….Disco Lou! I am so excited!

This week everyone at Cat Depot is getting ready to boogie down at Caturday Night Fever! It’s the gala of the year!

Disco, Dude!

Mighty Lou and Disco Balls

I looked up “disco” and found it was all about sparkle, glitter and the disco beat. I got a new sparkly cape, bling for my neck, my shades and some disco balls.

Mighty Lou Can't Just Sit on the Sidelines

You know it’s never enough for Mighty Lou to sit on the sidelines and just look pretty. I like to get into the action.

So I cranked up the old stereo with some disco tunes. Since I can’t hear, I had to feel the beat. What’s that I feel?

DISCO!!!

Mighty Lou Disco Dancing

One, two, three, four…..….Stayin’ Alive, Stayin’ Alive.

Mighty Lou Stayin' Alive

Dah, Dah, Dah, Dah………Stayin’ Alive, Stayin’ Alive.

Mighty Lou Does The Hustle

Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo……….Stayin’ Alive, Stayin’ Alive.

Wait a minute. Stop the music. Time to change my cape from black-on-white to white-on-black. That John Travolta has nothing on me!!

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha……Stayin’ Alive, Stayin’ Alive.

So, Whitey, tell everyone you know about Caturday Night Fever! It’s Saturday, March 15th from 6:30-10:30 pm at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.

They can register online or call my guy, Tim Weeks at 941-366-2404.

MIghty Lou's Disco Bling

Guess who’s going and has all of his glitter ready? None other than the party guy himself, me, Mighty Lou, Disco Dude.

Oh, and tell the humans it’s a fun party and they should dress up disco style.

Besides the glitter and bling, I found out the hair style of that era was……

Disco Dude, Mighty Lou with an afro

The “Fro!”

Later, Dude.

Love,
Disco Lou
