There is always something going on over here.
Usually I’m in the business of promoting special needs cats.
But, this week something kind of special happened.
We got a house guest I didn’t see coming (pun intended, which you will get later.)
Yes, Madeline is a dog.
Yes, Madeline is giving me a kiss.
Madeline isn’t just any dog.
She is being trained and will grow up to be a guide dog for the blind.
It’s our job to teach her here for 14 months.
When she leaves us she will have a very important life ahead of her.
In the meantime, she is here and quickly found her favorite feline.
Was it me? No. It’s Annie Sullivan.
Annie Sullivan loved her immediately, and they played continually.
Annie has already taught Madeline how to clean her paws.
Madeline caught onto that one quickly.
I ask you, how sweet is it that a blind cat is training a seeing eye dog?
Since Annie was set on being the trainer…
…I lined them up and told them I would be watching their every move.
Nothing gets by me.
No matter where they are, I’m watching from afar.
Madeline is very sweet with Annie.
Annie always thanks her with a soft pat on the nose.
This is a lesson for all of us.
Annie has physical limitations, but there are no limitations on love.
Annie is able to express herself, share, and love without eyes.
See, love comes in all shapes and sizes.
And four-legged fur creatures express it the best.
Until next week.
