Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – March 13, 2017

Bow-Tie talks about daylight savings timeHi Everyone,

Guess what time it is?

It’s time to change those clocks again.

Bow-Tie changes his clockTime for everyone to run around…

…and spin the hands on their clocks.

But that’s a human thing.

Cats are different.

Bow-Tie says it's time to eatWe think of only two things when we look at the clock.

One is… it’s time to EAT!

Bow-Tie changes his clockThe second is more frequent and just as important.

When we look at the clock we know what we need to do up to 16 hours a day.

Bow-Tie says it's time to sleepWhat is it?

Sleep, of course.

For a cat, it’s always a good time to sleep.

Bow-Tie wishes happy clock-change-dayWatch your cats today.

Their schedule will stay the same, even though you changed the clock.

How do we do that???

Happy Clock Change Day!

Love,

Bow-Tie

Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – March 6, 2017

Bow-Tie handsome in black tieHi Everyone,

I’m a very tolerant guy.

I’m the only boy amid all these girls.

They bug me on occasion, but I love them.

However, sometimes I just have to back away and let them have their day.

Yesterday was one of those days.

Here’s Courage.

Courage is ready with pearls and purse

She was all excited, because she was invited to a purse fashion show luncheon.

She got her pearls and purse ready to go.

Courage arrives, in a purseAnd since it was a purse event…

…she arrived being carried in a purse.

Everyone thought that was really cute.

Courage seated by the tableShe got a seat at the table (in her purse, of course.)

Courage in a purse, at the tableVery quickly, her nose started working.

She can’t see, but there was something on the table that smelled good.

Courage licks butterAh, there it was.

And she went in for a taste.

Butter.

Courage likes butterMmmm!

Courage eats a rollShe was offered a roll and butter.

But who needs the roll when you have butter?

Courage on top of purseShe was a very good girl all day.

She just sat in her purse for the whole lunch and fashion show.

Courage and her collarAt the end of the day she took her sparkly collar off.

It was time to go home.

Courage had a good dayWhen it was over, it had been a very good day.

A very good, girlie type of day.

See you next week.

Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – February 27, 2017

Bow-Tie is a peacemakerHi Friends,

You know me.

I am a lover, not a fighter.

I am a peacemaker and not a troublemaker.

But I am at my wits end with one of my sisters here.

Annie Sullivan caused me all kinds of trouble this week.

First, she got herself stuck in the pantry.

Annie Sullivan in the pantry

She can’t see.

How she got up three shelves high is beyond me.

Annie Sullivan in the treat bagThere’s nothing wrong with her nose though.

She got into a bag of treats and really enjoyed herself.

Annie Sullivan all tied upThat’s not bad enough.

The next day I found her in the bathroom.

She had herself all tied up.

Annie Sullivan doing the TP-danceShe was doing what we call the TP shuffle.

And she was quite good at it.

Annie Sullivan finding a way outShe didn’t care that she was being watched.

She went right on pulling that paper around.

Annie Sullivan says she'd do it againShe showed no remorse when I asked if she was sorry.

She proudly said, “I would do it again!”

Annie Sullivan in Time OutI’m patient, but she pushed me to my limit.

I had to put her in “time out.”

I love her dearly, but she was on my last nerve.

And she was just as happy sitting there.

That is one happy little kitty with a bundle of energy!

See you all next week.

Love,

Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – February 20, 2017

Turtle girlHi everyone,

It was exactly a year ago a very special little lady came into our home.

This is Blueberry.

She was very, very shy at the time.

She also has very poor vision, which made her frightened of everything.

Like me, she is from a hoarding home.

People hear the word “hoarding” and tend to look away.

It’s ugly, I agree.

But animals in hoarding houses need humans.

Cat Depot’s Community Cat Care goes into these bad situations and helps the cats.

Food bowl in a hoarding houseThis is the type of food plates found in Blueberry’s home.

Bugs thrive in that environment, but cats cannot.

Cats being rescued from a hoarding houseThis is what happened to Blueberry and her family when Community Cat Care arrived.

They were humanely trapped and taken to Cat Depot.

They were tended to medically and then spayed and neutered.

Why am I telling you this now?

Why am I showing you these unattractive moments?

Because now I want you to see this…

Blueberry

…meet happy, healthy, and well-adjusted Blueberry today!

Two of the other cats were named Abbott and Costello.

Abbott and LeviMeet Abbott and his brother Levi.

Costello has a new loving family too.

Abbott and LeviSo, thank you to Cat Depot’s Community Cat Care Team.

Because of the care cats receive when we are in dire situations, we can have happy endings.

Just like Abbott and Costello.

Bow-Tie and BlueberryAnd just like my Blueberry.

Thank you.

Have a happy week!

Annie Sullivan close-upHi all you people!

I’m Annie Sullivan.

I’m not even a year old yet and Bow-Tie let me speak in his blog!

Or, maybe he doesn’t know I’m writing to you.

Annie Sullivan playing with a bow tieMaybe he’s not dressed yet and doesn’t want to be seen without his bow tie.

Uh oh… here he comes now.

Bow-Tie sneaking into the picturePsst…

…Annie Sullivan is way too young to handle this blog.

(Look at her. She doesn’t even realize yet I took the bow tie away.)’Hehehe.

Bow-Tie getting his licker readyGuess what’s coming up next week?

I’m getting my licker ready to go, because it’s Valentine’s Day!

Bow-Tie kissing Annie SullivanI don’t have a girlfriend, but it’s the day of love for any friend.

I love little Annie Sullivan and love to take care of her.

She has her pretty Valentine’s Day outfit on, so she needs to be treated special.

She’s family and I love her.

Bow-Tie closeSo, I hope you get a Valentine or two.

I hope you send a Valentine or two.

But no matter what…

…this is MY Valentine to YOU.

Because I love you.

Bow-Tie caught at a bad timeOops! Sorry.

You caught me off guard and at a very embarrassing moment.

Bow-Tie cleans upLet me just clean up a bit and then we’ll talk.

Since we’re here, let’s just stay on the subject.

Familiar scene for cat ownersAnd the subject is familiar to all cat owners.

It’s that all too familiar litter box.

It’s the place we cats do our business, hopefully in private.

(I did not know the cameras were rolling.)

But there’s a problem that’s also familiar to many cat owners.

Look closely…

Culprit lurking in the corner

…the problem is that culprit lurking in the shadows, way back there.

Watch for it.

Culprit caught in the crimeAnd there it is…

…she swoops in to sift out some tasty morsels.

Why do dogs consider the remnants we express as delicacies?

Look of shameYou think this is the face of shame?

It’s not.

Sheer pleasureIt’s the face of satisfaction…

…and sheer pleasure.

The dog laughed and laughed and laughedI sat her down and explained exactly where those little delicacies come from.

You know what she did?

She threw her head back and laughed and laughed and laughed.

I’m not sure if she didn’t believe me, or if she just didn’t care.

Bow-Tie doesn't understand dogsYou know what?

I don’t get dogs.

Bow-Tie says cats rule but dogs droolAnd that is why they say…

…dogs drool and cats rule!

See you next week!

Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – January 30, 2017

Bow-Tie talking at the vetHi everybody!

The first month of the New Year is already over (well, almost.)

How are those New Year’s Resolutions coming along?

As you know, at the end of last year I was diagnosed as being overweight.

Me!

Small incidentI took offense when I first heard the diagnosis…

…but I guess I can see what they meant.

So my New Year’s Resolution was to lose the weight.

Bow-Tie loves attentionGood news!

I went back to the vet after sticking to my diet, and I impressed them all.

My weight is purrfect!

The vet gives Bow-Tie thumbs upI even got a “thumbs up” from my doctor.

SidneyOn the other hand…

there’s my friend Sidney.

Remember Sidney?

She flew from the Chubby Cat Pod at Cat Depot all the way to her new home in Chicago.

Well, she’s still battling her weight problem.

Sidney enjoying the sunBut as you see, she works out and is eating right.

This year she’ll make her ideal weight too.

After the long and cold winter in Chicago, she wants to look good again for summer.

Good luck, Sidney.

Us fatties have to stick together.

If I can do it, you can do it!

Happy second month of 2017!

Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – January 23, 2017

Hi Everybody!

Do you see me?

Bow-Tie

Do you see me now?

Bow-Tie pillow

He he he!

Bow-Tie going bananasPretty funny, isn’t he?

I had to change my bow tie for this message…

…because this is driving me bananas!

Bow-Tie thinks there's a striking resemblanceLook at this guy…

..he does bear an amazing resemblance if I say so myself.

A dear friend saw him and had to get him for me.

Bow-Tie looking at the pillowI am very fond of him already (though I do feel his eyes follow me everywhere.)

Bow-Tie can't lick his own earOne thing I enjoy very much about him is this:

I can reach his shriveled little ear and I can’t reach my own.

Bow-Tie licking his clone's earI like to get right in there and do it really good for him…

…much like I would like someone here to do for me.

The girls around here say it’s yucky, and they won’t do it.

It’s not.

Relaxing in the sunI enjoy nice afternoons outside with my new buddy.

He watches over me (ahhh, those eyes)

A good place for a napAnd an added bonus to this new friendship?

He gives me a really soft place to take a nap in the sun.

The eyes have it!

Have a great week!

Bow-Tie’s Bulletin – January 16, 2017

Dear Friends,

I don’t mean to brag, but look at my handsome mug.

Bow-Tie Handsome Mug

I’ve always thought I was good looking and somewhat dapper.

Now I have proof that others have the same view.

Bow-Tie portraitFirst there was the portrait.

I was immortalized in this watercolor portrait.

Brilliant likeness of ny handsomess I’d say.

But wait… it gets better.

The magazine cover made Bow-Tie blushThen there was the magazine cover.

This one went out to the whole wide world (well, kinda).

I was so proud it made me blush.

Bow-Tie on a handmade bookWhat happened next shocked even me.

Look at this beautiful, handmade book.

The students in a Ringling College Book Binding class had a project.

They were told to find a photo they loved.

The photo was used to create a handmade stitched book.

This student had no idea who I was, she just loved the picture in the magazine.

She found out my name and the artist’s name and bam, “Bow-Tie” was named as the model.

So, she found the artist (who happens to live with me) and brought her a book to give to me.

How flattering and kind.

Bow-Tie pawtographAs soon as I got the book I pawtographed page #1.

Bow-Tie proud of his pawtographI’m quite proud of my original artwork.

Bow-Tie winksIt’s fun to be popular!

Love you all.

Hey Everyone, look at my bow tie…

Bow-Tie wears a golf bow tie

…yep, golf balls!

Look into my eyesNow look into my eyes…

…this is my serious look, because I have serious cat business.

Cat Depot Golf TournamentAnnouncing the first annual Cat Depot Golf Classic!

It’s February 6, 2017 at the Founder’s Club in Sarasota.

Tee Sign for Bow TieGuess who has been asked to be the poster cat for one of the holes?

But of course!

This is the tee sign that will be on one of the holes.

You can sponsor a hole and have a tee sign of your own!

Each sign is 18×24 and full color, just like mine.

You can dedicate the hole to a family pet or family member.

Dedicate it to whoever you choose, and we’ll print it on the tee sign.

Each tee sign is available for a $100 donation to Cat Depot.

When the event is over, you can have the sign!

It will be at Cat Depot, waiting for you to take it home.

Tee Sign for Mighty LouI am purrsonally purchasing the first tee sign and here it is…

It is my tribute to the great Mighty Lou.

There are only 20 tee signs available and they will go fast.

Here’s how you can get one:

Call my friend Tim at Cat Depot, 941-366-2404.

He will take your information and ask you to send him the photo.

If Tim is not available, you can ask for Claudia.

That’s all there is to it, but the deadline to order is January 15.

Can you imagine your own fluffy pet out there for everyone to admire?

Or maybe you just want to write something special on your tee sign.

Anything goes, just let Tim know what you want.

I will be there that day, so I want to see all of your tee signs displayed proudly

Bow-Tie is grumpyThis is my grumpy face.

I will look like this if you don’t get one.

We don’t want that.

Remember, the deadline is January 15, so you have to hurry up.

My man Tim is waiting for your call.

By the way, you don’t have to live in Sarasota to get a tee sign.

We’ll make it and when the tournament is over we’ll mail your sign.

Now that’s a good deal.

Bow-Tie looking up

Thanks and bye for now.
